About CBD Lipid Signaling

What is CBD Lipid Signaling?

CBD Lipid Signaling will encompass all aspects of research relevant to Lipid Signaling. CBD Lipid Signaling welcomes the submission of all original research articles, commentaries, reports and reviews relating to any aspect of Lipid Signaling research: lipid kinase and phosphatase regulation and signaling, linked pathways, intra- and extracellular actions of bioactive lipids in physiology and disease. Research carried out in any organism will be considered.

CBD Lipid Signaling is associated with the new Targeted Proteins database, published by Current BioData, that aims to facilitate use of the growing knowledge of the human proteome to support the needs of scientists involved in drug research. All research articles published in this journal are open access.

Content overview

CBD Lipid Signaling considers the following types of articles:

  • Research: reports of data from original research.
  • Commentaries: short, focused and opinionated articles on any subject within the journal's scope. These articles focus on specific issues and are about 800 words.
  • Short reports: brief reports of data from original research, usually about 1500 words.
  • Methodology articles: present a new experimental method, test or procedure. The method described may either be completely new, or may offer a better version of an existing method. The article must describe a demonstrable advance on what is currently available. The method needs to have been well tested and ideally, but not necessarily, used in a way that proves its value.
  • Reviews: comprehensive, authoritative, descriptions of any subject within thejournal's scope. Opinion leaders that have been invited by the Editorial Board usually write these articles. They have an educational aim and are 2000-3000 words. Long reviews and short reviews have different readerships and characteristics - a mixture of both is ideal. Reviews can cover any topical themes such as basic science and clinical reviews, ethics, pro/con debates, equipment reviews and thematic series to highlight specific topics in the field.

Peer review policies

All manuscripts submitted to CBD Lipid Signaling will be subject to immediate screening by the Editorial Board. Appropriate manuscripts will be sent to up to 4 referees for review and we will make every effort to reach an initial decision within 6 weeks of submission. If the referees have requested revisions, in general, only one revised version will be considered for further peer-review.

All peer review is closed, meaning that referees' confidentiality is maintained and referees reports are not made publicly available.

Editorial Board members and referees are asked to declare any competing interests they may have in reviewing a manuscript.

If an author is not satisfied with the decision made on their manuscript, they are welcome to contact the Editorial Office with their appeal. A second opinion on the manuscript will be sought where appropriate.

Edited by Matthias Wymann, CBD Lipid Signaling is supported by an international Editorial Board.

Publishing in CBD Lipid Signaling

All articles will be listed in PubMed immediately upon acceptance (after peer review), and will be covered by PubMed Central.

The following citation:

refers to article 1 from volume 2 of the journal.

As an online journal, CBD Lipid Signaling does not have issue numbers. Each volume corresponds to a calendar year.
